TICKETS!

Something Wicked Film Festival’s 2020 event will be completely online due to the current situation we find ourselves in post COVID-19 quarantine.  All of us here at SWFF decided not to postpone our event but to embrace the current times and continue bringing independent film-makers and outlet from which their films can be seen.  This year’s event will be different as all of our “official selections” will be available in one place from August 7-9, 2020!

My team and I are working on the website (which will be linked through our Main Website at www.somethingwickedfilmfestival.com) as we speak in order for audiences to be able to view all the films from one location all day throughout the weekend.  But once the weekend is over all the films will disappear and you’ll have to see them at a different film festival so make sure to purchase your tickets and spend all weekend in bed or on the couch watching some amazing films.

We have an amazing selection of films from returning film-maker’s including the feature TEACHER SHORTAGE from director Troy Escamilla (MRS. CLAUS) and Jax Price with his latest horror short PINE.   We also have some amazing features for audiences this year from the German fantasy musical REEL ME and the fantasy troll film UNDER CONTROLL, to name a few.  This year I’d like to highlight our fan film selection which includes the Stephen King based film WILLA and even a couple Star Wars fan films DROID STORY and THE PATH OG THE GREYS and two new shorts from film-maker Chris R. Notarile with DOMINO and TYPHOID MARY (based on Marvel Comic book characters).  This is just a few of the films on display this year including our regular horror, animation, experimental, sci-fi, and fantasy selections.
We want to ensure that even though this will be an online event, that audiences still get an amazing experience including Live panel discussions and film-maker interviews including other Live Special Events!   Tickets for this year’s event will be sold through Film Freeway (https://filmfreeway.com/somethingwickedfilmfestival/tickets) or through Ticket Leap (something-wicked-film-festival.ticketleap.com/something-wicked-film-festival/) so make sure to purchase your tickets for the event.  Once you purchase tickets you will be emailed a PASSWORD that will allow you access to the all the films (so if you don’t get an email from us with that PASSWORD a week before the event please make sure to contact us).

Also, remember to continue supporting indie films and film-makers!

SWFF 2020 OFFICIAL SELECTIONS LIST:

This year’s SWFF 2020 Online Festival Event is made up of an amazing list of shorts and features from all the different genres (animation, horror, fantasy, science fiction, experimental, and fan film, to name a few).  When you purchase a ticket for this year’s online event you will get access to all these films and more  this August 7-9.  In addition to being able to view all these films at your leisure during the weekend you will get access to all of our Live Events and Special Presentations including our Panel Discussions and film-maker interviews.
We’d like to give a special thanks to all the film-makers who have graciously allowed us to present their films during our online event.  These current times have required both film-makers and film festivals to approach our industry in new and creative ways in order to continue reaching audiences in the best way possible.
Stay tuned for more info in regards to everything coming to SWFF 2020 Online Festival Event soon!  If you’re interested in purchasing tickets go here to Ticket Leap -  something-wicked-film-festival.ticketleap.com/something-wicked-film-festival/

SWFF AND COVID-19

We know that for the last few months the COVID-19 pandemic has taken a toll on film-makers across the globe.  Something Wicked Film Festival (www.somethingwickedfilmfestival.com) has always been an event that showcased films from all over the world and we know that film-makers have, unfortunately, not been able to continue filming during this time (or complete films already in production).  This means that the number of submissions has dwindled based on previous years but that doesn’t mean that we are going to take this lying down!  We are seeing a new wave of indie film-making that is taking this time to improve screenplays, take extra time editing existing films (or tackling films that have been sitting on the shelf), and we’ve even heard stories about film-makers converting web series into feature length films just because they now have all this time.  We love to hear these stories as it means that even when the world looks bleak, film-makers are still going to thrive.  I am looking forward to viewing some of these completed projects and am looking forward to hearing about some amazing new films on the horizon as we enter into unchartered territory when it comes to the future on film-making and SWFF will be there to continue screening and supporting film-makers across the globe as we have always done and hope to continue doing!
Keep telling your stories any way you can no matter the obstacles put before you!

SWFF GOES TO DAYS OF THE DEAD!

Something Wicked Film Festival (www.somethingwickedfilmfestival.com) partnered with the She-RIFFS of “That’s What She RIFFED” for the 2020 Days of the Dead Atlanta, which is the amazing event celebrating everything horror fan culture.  The staff of SWFF and “TWSR” had a phenomenal time promoting both events and interacting with people.  We also gave out free tickets for both events as this marked a new phase for us as we strive to interact and approach audiences to show them just what SWFF and “TWSR” has to offer.  We can’t wait until next year’s event but until then enjoy these photos from the event!

SWFF Visit Walker Stalker Atlanta!

Some of our staff and the She-Riffs of "That's What She RIFFED" managed to get out to this year's Walker Stalker Atlanta on Oct 18-20 where we had a booth to promote the 5th Anniversary of our film festival and the "TWSR" show as well.  We hope that all of guests who came out to our booth enjoyed their experience and hope to see everyone at the next event as this is but the first event we will be at before our next festival!

Submissions open on November 15th through Film Freeway - https://filmfreeway.com/somethingwickedfilmfestival

And our next "TWSR" presentation is this November 16th @8P where our She-Riffs will be screening the infamous classic PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE!  Get more info here - https://www.facebook.com/events/412680916076329/ and purchase your tickets now here - https://something-wicked-film-festival.ticketleap.com/thats-what-she-riffed-presents-plan-9-from-outer-space/?fbclid=IwAR19h1NNpRcveWUcS99SGiyc9Jp22qthXiyIdIRHSP2OAVvm7HtvdMQPmJ0

SWFF is Back!

It’s time!  Something Wicked Film Festival is coming back in 2020 for our 5th Anniversary and we’ve got a lot of great things in store for this very special year.  In addition to the wonderful new poster from our graphic designer Byron C. Erwin (who has designed all five of our festival posters) we will be making a lot of changes for our event which will be August 7-9, 2020.  We will be at a new venue for this iteration of the festival.  The 2020 festival will be held at the Infinite Energy Center where we will have three screening rooms and one panel discussion room, so that means more films to be screened!

We have also added Fan Films to our list of screening genres so you film-makers out there with fan film shorts and web series please make sure to submit those this year.  These fan films can be virtually of anything as long as it is a fan film of an established property.

You’ll also see us at many different conventions this year!  We were just at Walker Stalker Atlanta promoting both the film festival and our all-female live riffing show “That’s What She RIFFED” (which is once a month and if you’ve not had a chance to see this make sure to check that out as well).  We will have pictures from the event posted soon!

Submissions for the 2020 event start this November 15th through Film Freeway (https://filmfreeway.com/somethingwickedfilmfestival) and we look forward to seeing what you all have been working on the in the last year!
